Website Design

Fresh uncluttered layouts with a strong emphasis user experience and responsive design

Keeping up with website design trends and styles in an ever changing web is challenging and fun. These days a well built site has to do a lot of things well, delivering a clear design, bundled in a responsive framework which is managed by a straightforward Content Management System.

Sound like a lot of jargon? Well it need not be like that.

Incorporating all these elements is normal for web designers who are used to working with many client goals in mind. But don't worry we look after the technical side of things when delivering a site and defining a clear brief is the first step in the process.

Our Web Design Process

1. The design process actually begins with defining your web strategy and forming the site structure before we do any actual graphic design. For most sites this can be a simple task often taking only an hour or two.

2. In the next step we discuss your design preferences and look at your branding or business logo which will be included in the colour palette and layout. We can also create a logo and branding if required.

3. Only then do we begin the actual graphical website design and layout process using Photoshop, Illustrator and other tools to create mock-ups and wire-frames of the layout. Once completed a draft image of the layout is sent for approval to the client. After approval website construction begins and the design can then be viewed in your favourite web browser.
Content is added as soon as the custom CMS is integrated to the design its then that the site comes alive. The development process can normally be seen by the client as the site comes together by logging in to our system.

Mobile Compatible

Current user trends mean any good design must be backed up by correct use of code when laying out the site. For example substituting images where possible with code which is rendered by the visitors browser for display.

Why does this matter?

The site downloads faster making it more mobile friendly and scalable for different displays.
This is not always the case for off the shelf website templates like Wordpress which can suffer badly from "site bloat" sometimes coming in at well over 1Mb of data for a typical page.

We use HTML5 and CSS3 standards when putting together most websites as this allows for the most flexible future-proof approach in a rapidly evolving web environment.

Normally we do not use any third party or off the shelf website templates unless its a specific request. Instead we create our own unique lightweight template for each project so you wont see your site anywhere else on the net unless someone copies it!
